The Original Pull-Up

Chromexcel is the original pull-up leather; using time honored techniques and formulas that were developed nearly 100 years ago.  Chromexcel is still produced in the United States using a bark retannage from a proprietary recipe, and then genuine hot stuffed with our secret blend of natural oils and greases.

Rustic & Worn

Dublin is tanned using our Cordovan vegetable tanning liquor formulas which are over 100 years old. Within the tanning process, the leather incorporates a richer blend of oils and waxes than traditional vegetable tanned leathers, which results in a leather that will age beautifully. In our finishing department, the Dublin leather is infused with a rich blend of natural waxes and then ironed to create a smooth surface with a rich tonal appearance that showcases the natural grain.

Rich & Durable

Latigo is a combination tanned leather with a full vegetable re-tan; well nourished with a rich proprietary blended oil emulsion. Characterized by beautiful tight grain, Latigo has come a long way from its cowboy origins— the old days of saddle straps and hand staining. Modern Latigo retains its toughness while showing a rich look that improves with age and use. This leather blends the durability of a chrome tan base with a heavy veg re-tan to create an unfinished, natural look that’s excellent for molding. It holds embosses well, retains molded shapes and has both full and corrected grain versions.

Traditional & Shell Cordovan Liquors

Essex is tanned using our Cordovan Vegetable tanning liquor formulas that are over 100 years old. The Essex line has a richer blend of oils and waxes than traditional vegetable tans, which results in a softer, supple full-grain leather. Essex, and its waxed versions, Dublin and Derby, took us nearly three years to develop and perfect.

Carving & Molding

Made from the thicker back half of the horse hide, these strips are tanned alongside Horween’s Cordovan for the first 45 days using a slow and gentle veg tan / hot stuffed process to create a very dense leather that’s ideal for carving and cold molding.

Niche Products

Tanned alongside Horween’s Cordovan for the first 45 days, these strips have a combo chrome and veg tan, which is then hot stuffed and finished as Chromexcel. Made and sold in small quantities, they’re great for creating niche products.
