Chromexcel is the original pull-up leather, crafted in the United States using time-honored techniques developed nearly 100 years ago. Each hide undergoes a proprietary bark retannage, followed by a genuine hot-stuffing process with a secret blend of natural oils and greases. The result is an extremely rich and durable leather, hand-stained to highlight its natural grain.

Horween Ink Washed Cavalier 5-6 oz

Horween Washed Cavalier is the washed variation of Cavalier. After finishing, the leather is wet back, tumbled, and exposed to heat during the washing process to achieve a nice tumbling pattern and a casual appearance. Cavalier is comparable to Chromexcel®, offering a slightly drier touch for applications that require a less oily finish without sacrificing quality or performance. It is combination tanned, with chrome tanning and a vegetable retan as part of the Hot Stuffing process. The leather is mill dyed for vibrant, long-lasting colors and is extremely durable, ensuring longevity and reliability. It also features a strong pull-up effect, adding character and enhancing its appearance with use.

Dublin is tanned using Horween’s Cordovan vegetable tanning liquor formulas which are over 100 years old. Within the tanning process, the leather incorporates a richer blend of oils and waxes than traditional vegetable tanned leathers, which results in a leather that will age beautifully. In our finishing department, the Dublin leather is infused with a rich blend of natural waxes and then ironed to create a smooth surface with a rich tonal appearance that showcases the natural grain. This Dublin N variation features a burnished grain and is in Horween’s classic Color #8.

Horween Natural Illini Latigo with Western Floral 5-6 oz

Illini Latigo is produced using Horween’s classic Latigo formulation and is a combination tanned leather with a full vegetable re-tan. After the tanning process, the leather is hot stuffed with a proprietary blend of waxes that nourishes the leather. Illini Latigo will have a firmer temper as compared to the standard Latigo line. Characterized by a beautiful tight grain. This variation is embossed with a traditional Western Floral pattern.
