Shop Walpier vegetable-tanned leather from Tuscany, Italy. Walpier is renowned for producing some of the finest vegetable-tanned leather in the world, including their signature Buttero. Each hide is tanned using traditional methods with chestnut bark extracts, resulting in leather that develops a rich patina over time. Available in full sides with no minimum order.
Buttero double shoulders are exquisite vegetable-tanned leather from the Walpier tannery in Tuscany, Italy. Buttero is characterized by a smooth grain side surface with deep, rich colors.
We have two options for the underside:
No Resin
Resin: The underside of the leather has a resin coating (acrylic & wax), which gives it an extremely finished look. Many people say the underside looks just as good as the grain side! This is best if your project is unlined or you need a really clean underside.
This leather is perfect for a variety of end uses… bags, accessories, belts, straps, and more. It’s going to be very durable. Like all vegetable-tanned leathers, this leather will show wear and age beautifully over time.

Tuscany is a vegetable tanned leather done on double shoulders. The natural base is finished by hand creating intense highs and lows. Tuscany features an incredible luxe sheen and rich color tones.

Walpier Rocky are a vegetable tanned double shoulders that are ideal for belts. The flesh side (underside) has a resin coating making it extremely tight and finished. Many people say the underside looks almost as good as the grain side!
Rocky comes in the standard belt weight of 9-9.5 oz (3.6-3.8 mm) and is available in three colors—Cuoio, Foresta, & Black. The length of this leather is approximately 58 inches. Like all leather, the exact dimensions will vary from piece to piece.
